V E Day Doorstep Photo Shoots
V.E. DAY DOORSTEP PHOTO SHOOTS!
So this is something you may have seen other photographers offering. I’ve been in two minds about the whole thing to be honest and so I decided it was best not to do it.
However, as you all know, it’s V.E. Day on Friday and I thought that actually, if I was going to do it, that would be the best day. It would be nice for people to have a family photo as a memory of the day and their time in lockdown. Photographs play such a huge part in history, even if it’s just for your personal family history.
So, on my daily dog walk on Friday, I intend to take my camera and I will take 1 doorstep photograph of any individual, couple or family who would like me to.
2 Metres Social Distancing will be adhered to (I will use my 70-200mm lens which means I will most definitely need to be 2m’s away from you!).
It’s going to be warm on Friday so, for the sake of my dog, I will leave my house at 10am (I live at the Brent Pelham end of Great Hormead) and I will walk straight through Great Hormead, past The Three Tuns & Hormead School, up to The Meads. I will turn left at The Beehive and walk along towards the south end of Hare Street turning left along Worsted Lane heading back into Great Hormead, past St Nicholas Church and turning right at the bottom of Horseshoe Hill to head home.
I do not intend to go to Hall Lane, Anderson Lane, the other side of Hare Street (north of Beehive Pub), Little Hormead or Willow Close but I can do on request.
If you would like your photo taken just make sure you are at your doorstep when I come past. If you have a driveway or you want to make sure you don’t miss me please pop me through a message before 9am on Friday morning with your address so I make sure to stop for you.
THIS IS A COMPLIMENTARY GIFT FROM ME TO YOU!
You will receive your photo as a downloadable jpeg (you will need to message me your email so I can send it to you).
If you would like to make a CHARITABLE DONATION in return then I suggest NHS CHARITIES TOGETHER (https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund…/showROFundraiserPage…
) or HELP FOR HEROES (https://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/give-support/donate-now/
) but any charity of your choice will be great.
HELP FOR HEROES
But all is not lost. I have prepared a complimentary Guide to Photographing your Newborn Safely at Home for Clients and others while they are waiting for their professional photo shoot. Everyone has access to a camera these days and whether its a DSLR or a Smart Phone you can capture some beautiful images of your Newborn in your own home in your own time.
Get your copy of the guide here and please feel free to share with any other expectant or new parents you think may benefit.
I hope this doesn’t cause anyone offence.
I have carefully considered this and I will be taking the photographs during my daily exercise. I will ensure social distancing is adhered to.
It is a one off, I intend to spread just a little bit of joy and perhaps make a small amount for charity.

Looking for something to do with the kids over the next couple of days?
How about printing off these colouring sheets and bunting. They should make fabulous Stay Home decorations.

I’m quite partial to a Tom Collins myself so I might give that one a go for the 6pm toast!

If retro is your thing then this place looks like great fun with an extensive cocktail list. It will be a while until it’s open again but it’s definitely on my list of “To Do’s” when we can.
